Connecticut Energy Storage Solutions
$200/kWh upfront + $115/kW performance
Connecticut Energy Storage Solutions is the joint Eversource / United Illuminating program for residential battery storage. The program pays $200 per kWh upfront plus an annual $115 per kW performance payment for grid services. A typical Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5 kWh, 5 kW) qualifies for $2,700 upfront ($200 × 13.5) plus $575/year ongoing ($115 × 5) for the multi-year contract term. The combined value over 5 years approaches $5,500 — among the strongest residential battery programs in the US. Connecticut's grid is small and capacity-constrained, making distributed battery storage particularly valuable.
