Mass Save ConnectedSolutions Battery Storage
~$50/kW summer peak event payment + multi-year contract
Mass Save ConnectedSolutions is the Massachusetts utility-administered battery storage demand-response program. Battery owners enroll their batteries to discharge during summer peak demand events (typically 30–60 events per summer) and receive performance payments based on how much capacity they provide. Eversource and National Grid pay approximately $50 per kW of summer peak demand reduction; National Grid also pays a smaller winter rate. A typical Tesla Powerwall 3 (5 kW continuous) participating in 50 events per year nets $200–$500 annually in ConnectedSolutions revenue. The program is among the most homeowner-friendly grid services programs in the US.
Eligibility
Who qualifies?
Massachusetts residential customers of Eversource or National Grid with grid-connected battery storage 5 kWh or larger.
Equipment requirements?
Battery must be ConnectedSolutions-approved (Tesla Powerwall, Sonnen, Generac PWRcell, Enphase IQ Battery, FranklinWH).
